2007 "Fill the Boot Day" Details

Dave Kahn of Petaluma Fire accepts a donation, Thursday, from the San Antonio Firefighters Association during their Local 1415 "Fill the Boot" day for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The members collected donations, between 9 and 2, from passing traffic at Petaluma Blvd. & B St. Last year the union raised over $5000 for "Jerry's Kids".

The MDA helps childern and adults affected by over 43 different types of neuromusclar dieases.

Some 76% of the funds MDA raises directly affect it's clients by providing free bay area clinics and support group sessions; allowing childern with muscular diseases to attend summer camp in the Santa Cruz Mountains; funding innovative research; and assisting clients to purchase wheelchairs, leg braces and other medical equipment.
